Description

The Cutie PAT Preemie Kit is designed for both preemies and newborns, offering a Preemie Tiny version, and a Preemie Stage 1. The Preemie Tiny is for babies up to 35 weeks, and the Preemie Stage 1 is for babies over 35 weeks. The Preemie Stage 1 is the same pacifier nipple as our Cutie PAT Round, and is safe for newborns up until 6 months. Once baby develops teeth, transition to a 0-24M or a Stage 2 Cutie PAT, for babies with or without teeth.

The Preemie Tiny and Preemie Stage 1 are a safe, one-piece design made out of 100% medical-grade silicone. It has a notched shield that allows room for breathing, CPAP tubes, ET tubes, tube feeding, etc. The slim shield and the small beaded design both ensure that the Cutie Preemie is lightweight.

Cutie Tip

If baby is showing bottle-feeding cues before 35 weeks, we suggest moving up to the Cutie Preemie Stage 1 early. We also recommend transitioning to the Cutie PAT Round Stage 1 around 40 weeks. Because all babies are different, please consult with your baby’s health care professionals and follow their recommendations.

Caution

To avoid a choking hazard, complete a pull test inspection before each use, by pulling the nipple in all directions. Check for damages such as cracks, tears, and/or excessive wear. If damaged, discard immediately. Nipple should be sucked on as a means to soothe, not chewed. For safety and hygiene, it is recommended to replace after 4 weeks of continued use. Do not use without adult supervision. Do not tie around a child's neck. Only use with pacifier clips that are CPSC compliant. If the entire pacifier becomes lodged in the mouth, do not panic; it cannot be swallowed. Remove gently and do a pull test inspection.

Wash with warm water and mild soap. Dishwasher safe, top rack only.

My little one developed an oral aversion while in the NICU. She still wanted a pacifier even with the aversion. This is the only pacifier she found comforting and would use for therapy sessions. After a few months, she is not only happy with this pacifier but is finally starting to use it more and more. I highly recommend these if your little is struggling with the texture of normal pacifiers from the NICU or needs a smaller size.

I bought the Preemie Kit for my granddaughter who is 6 lbs. The smaller size is perfect for her to use without gagging and the “larger” size 1 is still very small and will be perfect for her to use as she gets a bit bigger. Great purchase!
